I had a bit of an assessment of where I'm at on my to do list (see my previous post!) and I'm making progress!
- I have cleaned off the patio.. haven't gotten much decorating done, but I did get a new coffee themed waterproof table cloth at least.
- I've also done a little work on the kitchen decluttering and reorganizing!
- AND the laundry room has been thoroughly cleaned and organized as much as possible without putting in shelving. It's pretty workable so I'm happy.
- Haven't touched either desk yet... but I have cleaned up the fridge & freezer to be sold. Now to get off my rear & list them *sheepish*
I've also found the most looooooooovely cross stitch book! I happened to stumble across it purely by accident at the library... it's called Bewitching Cross Stitch and I am just in love. It's all manner of witchy type designs. I told hubby after a quick browse, that I was going to just have to order it, because it would cost me more to do colour photocopies of all the pages I simply MUST do LOL. If you are a stitch witch, I totally recommend this book! It's got everything from cute, kitschy witches & black cats, to an incredibly elegant Chinese phoenix, to a fantasy wizard, as well as a Father sun & Mother moon that are just enchanting!
However, MY first choice of project to start is the celtic bordered 'wheel of the year'. It's a big 12inch (30ish cm I think?) piece that will get framed & hung on the diagonal so it is a diamond shape. It's going to be gorgeous, and will certainly keep me busy for a while!
I seriously need to get another set of Qsnaps so I can have a couple of projects on the go without having to undo the frames constantly. (Q snaps are simply the best embroidery frames ever if you ask me! My bookmarks are on an 11" square Qsnap and they are much easier to use, and easier to hold, than reguar embroidery hoops... and the fabric where you hold the frame is wrapped in the plastic clamp. NO dirty spots to try to clean from the oils on your skin after many hours of holding a project :)
Also in the whimsical household, we have been experimenting with our brand new bread maker! So far I'm still tweaking the amount of water... the bread is coming out a bit dense, but the taste is spectacular :) and the density etc IS improving! I love the smell of freshly baked bread wafting from the kitchen and would love to be able to make most of our bread so that the kids aren't eating all the "who knows what those numbers are" that come in store made bread. Plus... it's just so cool to make it!
Before I sign off to work on my cross stitch now that my little guys are climbing into bed, I thought I'd update on the neighbor situation. Thus far we have only heard very quiet music from the person in question, and only during the day. Things are quiet on the home front and let's hope they stay that way.
Blessings!
